Tuesday 15th February, boxing promotional outfit Boxxer announced that Aaron Chalmers had signed a multi-fight deal.
Aaron Chalmers shot to fame on the hit television reality show Geordie Shore. After leaving reality TV, Aaron turned his attention to professional MMA fighting. Aaron began his pro MMA career under the BAMMA promotion. Aaron signed for global leading promotion Bellator after winning his first three pro-MMA bouts via first-round finishes. The reality star turned professional fighter finished his MMA career with five wins and two losses.
Aaron Chalmers Transitions From MMA to Boxing
After his short but successful MMA career, Aaron is now fancying his chances by pursuing a boxing career. Upon signing his deal with Boxxer, Aaron stated:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time in MMA but I always knew that boxing was where I wanted to be. Now I’ve got the chance to fulfil that dream and over the next few years I’m going to give it my all.”
Since wrapping up his professional MMA career, Aaron began training with the world-class boxing coach Adam Booth. Aaron stated that he has been training with Booth for 17 months as he transitions from MMA to boxing. Adam Booth, also Aaron’s manager, has trained former world champions such as David Haye, George Groves and Andy Lee.
Creating a huge social media following from his time on reality TV and MMA, Chalmers will have many fans following his career over to boxing. Ben Shalom, promoter and founder of Boxxer, said:
“Millions of people know Aaron Chalmers as a television star and professional MMA fighter, but he’s very serious about boxing. Adam Booth is one of the most accomplished trainers out there, so I’m looking forwards to some exciting fights and seeing how far he can go.”
Expect news of Chalmers professional boxing debut under the promotional banner Boxxer to be announced soon. Boxxer being exclusive to Sky Sports will give Aaron the boost to showcase his skills to a wider audience.
