Abdul shoots a takedown and works for it against the fence but Claudio Riberio defends well and circles to space. Back in the open the Brazilian is looking to set up the head kick but Alhassan is wise to it. The round ends after a flurry from a clinch in the cage.
In the second the tentative start comes to an end as both men swing and land. It’s Razak Alhassan who lands hardest wobbling Riberio before finally putting him down with some more bombs. A smart and measured approach for Razak sees him get back on track.

Now up in weight class, Abdul hopes he has turned a corner as he enters the latter stages of his career. Now 37, and with a record of 12-5, the next few fights could be make or break for the Ghanaian.
An exciting fighter if given the right dance partner, the UFC would be wise to give Alhassan opponents who suit his style. This would not only provide Abdul with good fights but the fans as well. Using him as an exciting and explosive fighter would be good for all involved.
