Adam Fugitt earns his first UFC win with a brutal TKO victory over prospect Yusaku Kinoshita at UFC Vegas 68.
Fugitt gets that first UFC win in a hard-fought battle against a tough 22-year-old Kinoshita. Both men came to fight and made it clear from the opening bell they were here to scrap. An intriguing clash of styles as southpaw faced southpaw.
Kinoshita came out light on his feet, bouncing from front to back foot in a karate-like style. Fugitt was measured with a high guard and pressure heavy on his front foot.
Each man starts their attacks with partially blocked kicks before trading leg kicks that land. The action continues with both men throwing and attempting to impose their wills. Adam eats a huge head kick and secures a takedown seconds later. Working on the ground and clinching, Adam is in control for almost two full minutes.
Back on his feet Yusaku presses forward looking to make amends for the last portion of the fight. Adam stays patient and lands a stiff left jab which lands flush dropping Kinoshita, who gets sent across the cage, before standing upright.
Adam feels the finish is near and begins to put more punches together and lands a few nice shots before securing a takedown. On the ground, he is potent and ruthless as he lands shots to both the head and body. This opens up the opportunity for the elbows that force the referee to call the bout.
