August 31st, fight fans will be treated to an exciting female flyweight contest at Ayr Town Hall. Agata Krynicka, representing The Griphouse in Glasgow, will make her highly anticipated MMA debut. She faces Lana Campbell, a seasoned fighter from North East Jiu Jitsu, who is making her return to the cage after an 18-month hiatus.
Krynicka has been eagerly preparing for this moment, balancing a full-time job with intense training sessions. Ahead of the fight, she shared her thoughts on her upcoming debut, her journey into MMA, and what fans can expect from her on fight night.
Agata feels fortunate that she hasn’t had much time to overthink during her preparation:
“I am lucky enough that I don’t really have time for overthinking during my preparation. I am a full-time worker, so when I’m not at work, I am at the gym. I find time for good emotions and thoughts only. I don’t want to waste any of my free time or training time for worries and things like that. Of course, there is still time left for me to get maybe a little bit stressed, but in fairness, I am surrounded by awesome people that will be there for me if I need to talk, get some advice, or just have a laugh and cheer me up.”
Agata Krynicka Talks MMA Debut
There wasn’t a single factor that led Agata to start her journey in MMA:
“I always liked sports, staying active, and trying new things. There was that voice in my head saying it would be so cool to do some MMA, and I felt like I could get really good at it. There were two reasons why I did not start training martial arts earlier. I had some health difficulties that affected my physical ability, so I could not really do any sports for a while. The second one was that, growing up in my family town, there were no MMA clubs, gyms, or after-school classes. Moving to Glasgow opened up lots of new opportunities for me. I changed my life, my body shape, my mindset.”
Agata began pursuing her goals during the COVID lockdowns, which helped prepare her for joining The Griphouse as soon as gyms reopened:
“I’ve been working on those goals during COVID. That prepared me a little bit for joining The Griphouse as soon as gyms were back open. My first class was Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; two days later, I did a Muay Thai session, and since the very beginning, I fell in love with it.”
What Pressure?
Despite the anticipation of her debut, Agata is not feeling any pressure:
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for a bit of time now, so I am definitely not feeling the pressure. I knew it would come at the right time, so I knew I’d need to be ready. I’ve trained as hard as I could, even without having any match confirmed yet. It makes me feel ready and comfortable to walk into the cage with a smile on my face and enjoy every single second, performing as best as I can.”
As she steps into the cage, Agata expects an exciting and unpredictable high-paced show that will keep the audience engaged:
“I expect an awesome, unpredictable, high-paced show that won’t be boring for people. I respect my opponent; from what I know, she is a decent grappler. Lana might not have been an active MMA fighter, but I assume she has been training all the time. I am more focused on my own training and developing my skills as much as I can.”
What to Expect at Kratos Fight Series
Agata’s friends, family, and teammates can expect a strong performance from her on fight night:
“I am sure they can expect from me an improvement of that discipline, plan, good attitude, and hard work that will pay off. They know that I am stubborn, smart, and strong, and I will use it. It would mean a lot for me to get that win. It would confirm that I’ve really developed my physical and mental strength, which is really important to me at this stage of my life. It would give me a boost of confidence and energy for future gym work.”
Agata Krynicka’s journey to the cage has been marked by dedication and determination. As she steps into the spotlight for the first time, fans can expect an exciting contest between two fighters eager to prove themselves. Whether it’s her calm confidence or the support from her camp, Krynicka seems more than ready to make her debut one to remember.
