Team Renegade fighter Aiden Lee is in action this weekend as he takes on American Henry Corrales at Bellator 273.
Lee is coming into this one on the back of an impressive first-round rear-naked choke victory over Russia’s Alexander Osetrov at Bellator 269. Lee has won 3 of his last 4, with his only loss coming to Aaron Pico by way of submission.
Aiden Lee on UK MMA Explosion
Aiden Lee recently spoke to MyMMANews about the UK MMA scene, discussing whether now was a good time to be training at home:
”100% man. I think it was always a matter of time for the UK to have their kind of spike and it’s coming through now”
“People are doing it from home, in the past, we’ve had good guys but they’ve gone abroad and they’ve been representing an American gym or whatever. Now we’ve got a bunch of good guys fighting in the UK, out of the UK”
Underdog Tag Doesn’t Phase Lee
In Lee’s upcoming fight against Henry Corrales, he will be the underdog. Largely because Corrales holds a notable victory over highly touted Jackson-Wink prospect Aaron Pico, the last man to defeat Lee inside the Bellator cage. When asked, Lee said of his opponent:
“I see he’s a veteran, he’s comfortable in the cage, he’s experienced, but he’s pretty one dimensional”.
“His tools aren’t good for beating means I’m confident I can dominate him in every area”
It’s clear to see that even with the oddsmakers siding with Corrales, Lee doesn’t buy into the MMA math:
“Anybody who understands the game, understands there ain’t no maths in fighting”
It’s clear to see that even with the oddsmakers siding with Corrales. Lee doesn’t buy into the MMA maths behind them, stating :
As much as Aiden Lee is looking forward to competing this weekend, he feels a UK fight is on the horizon.
“It’s gonna be my fourth international fight in a row. I think I’m due my fight in the UK now, you know?”
That being said, who would you like to see England’s Aiden Lee take on next?
