Alex Pereira kicked a fan who bet $40,000 on him losing at UFC 281.
The Brazilian who has taken the UFC by storm since his debut is preparing for his title defense against Magomed Ankalaev. Pereira has become a fan favourite for his stone-cold demeanour and interactions with MMA fans.
Alex Pereira Kicks Fan Who Bet $40,000 at UFC 281
Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira showed why he is one of the fan favourites following an interaction this past weekend. A fan approached the Brazilian claiming that he bet $40,000 on Pereira to lose to Israel Adesanya. However, that bet didn’t hit as Alex Pereira finished Adesanya by knockout in Round 5 of their fight.
As usual, the champion responded with his trademark leg kick. However, Alex Pereira clearly didn’t put in enough power to give the fan an injury. Following this, despite not unleashing his full strength, the fan was left limping, followed by the Brazilian trademark phrase “Chama”.
Magomed Ankalaev Hopes to Upset the Champion
Russian light heavyweight contender Magomed Ankalaev will be hoping to claim the belt at UFC 313. Blessed with incredible grappling skills, Ankalaev will be looking to test the champion on the ground. However, if he fails to take the champion down, it could be a difficult night given how dominant the champion is on his feet.
On the other hand, the Brazilian will be looking to continue his reign following a fantastic 2024, where he defended his belt three times. This included wins over Jamahal Hill, Khalil Rountree, and Jiri Prochazka. The pair have also clashed several times on social media in the past year. Despite Ankalaev having the advantage in the grappling exchanges, he is still a high-level boxer.
