Alex Pereira Faces Off Against Physical 100 Star Kim Kang Min in Gym Showdown
During his time in Korea, Alex Pereira went and teamed up with popular influencer and Physical 100 star Kim Kang Min for a gym session. The towering 209lbs bodybuilder would go on to guide Pereira through several workouts before challenging him to an arm wrestling match.
“I’m curious,” Kim said via a translator, issuing the challenge. “I’ll see if I’m strong enough to [compete].” Pereira, responding in Portuguese, quipped: “I’m strong when competing, but I’m weak when it comes to lifting weights.”
When the two sat down for the arm wrestle, the results were unsurprising. Kim went and pushed himself to his limit, visibly sweating and straining. This was while Alex Pereira remained calm and composed, staring across the table at Kim without breaking a sweat.
In the end, it was Alex Pereira who suggested they would call it a draw. This was much to Kim’s evident relief. The two then continued their workout, maintaining a friendly rapport, and capped off the session by showing off their signature poses for the camera.
Fans Reaction
The fans who watched this viral video have largely agreed that Alex Pereira, as a professional fighter, possesses muscles more suited for functional strength and active competition. This is in contrast, to Kim who displayed a visually striking physique that lacked the same practical power.
“Alex has true power. The bodybuilder has show muscles,” one fan commented. While another joked, “Alex Pereira gave that bodybuilder a free physics lesson – turns out muscles don’t mean much when you’re up against a human forklift!”
Many fans have highlighted the contrast in their type of strength. One viewer went on to explain, “It’s a completely different strength. Bodybuilders carry a lot of water weight, while fighters are lean, with denser, more efficient muscles.”
Alex Pereira Action-Packed Korea Trip
This video is just one of the many highlights from the champion’s trip to Korea. In another video, Alex Pereira playfully delivers repeated leg kicks to a fan, while other footage captured him exploring various locations around the country.
This trip has served as a well-deserved break for Pereira, who has endured one of the most gruelling stretches in UFC history earlier this year. Pereira competed in April, June, and October, starting with a victory over Jamahal Hill at UFC 300. Pereira then stepped up on short notice when he faced Jiri Prochazka in a rematch at UFC 303. This saved the event.
His most recent trip to the octagon came all the way back in October. This was when Pereira took on Khalil Rountree Jr, a lower-ranked contender at UFC 307. This fight marked his longest fight yet as Rountree pushed Pereira into the fourth round before Pereira secured another highlight-reel knockout.
