Alex Pereira has proven he has a powerful punch. This is because he has finished many of the fights by knocking his opponent out. However, the question is how powerful can the light heavyweight champion punch?
Alex Pereira would answer this as the champion went and took on the infamous PowerKube this week. This was in preparation for his fight this weekend in the main event of UFC 300 against Jamahal Hill. Alex Pereira will be looking to continue his regain as UFC lightweight champion.
Alex Pereira Smashed the Record
The former middleweight and current light heavyweight champion has had people question if he could make the switch to heavyweight. Some people even predicted Alex Pereira to face off against the interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall at UFC 300. However, while he is currently not fighting in the heavyweight division he has shown he can punch like a heavyweight.
Alex Pereira was able to score an incredible 191,796 in just a single punch which is a very impressive score. This score has completely shattered the previous record which was 129,161. Francis Ngannou was able to set the previous record back in 2018.
In the video you can see Alex Pereira is happy at the score he was able to record. This is an incredible score, given that many other UFC heavyweights have tried to be able to break Ngannou’s record. This is even better when you remember that Pereira started his career off as a middleweight. He was able to defeat Adesanya for the middleweight title. Despite setting the new record he will now have to turn his attention to Hill who he will be facing this weekend. Hill has since been shown this video of the punch and has laughed it off. Hill has predicted he will be leaving with the title this weekend.
Adesanya Prediction
Alex Pereira’s former rival Israel Adesanya who Pereira stopped for the middleweight title before dropping the title to Adesanya has back Hill this weekend. Adesanya went onto his YouTube channel and explained;
“Jamahal, I just don’t think is scared,”
“Jamahal has got power, scary knockout power as well and Alex can get knocked out.
“He’s beatable, we all know this, and I’ve proven it.
“I’m gonna go Jamahal by KO. I think it’s gonna be in the first two and a half [rounds].”
