As UFC 298 nears ever closer. The two men competing in the main event came face to face when Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria crossed paths in the fighter hotel.
Despite all the talk from Topuria, Volkanovski kept things relatively respectful. Taking promotional pictures with the belt Topuria was interrupted by Volkanovski, who jokingly poked a few jibes at the challenger.

Quick to respond as he approached the champion. Topuria’s rebuttal was “It looks great though.” Before Volk quickly jumped back in with “You may as well wear it now.” As Topuria says he’s “going to take a couple of pictures”
The champion then once again replied joking “Take pictures now because you won’t have it after.” Disagreeing, Topuria then said the following in response to Volkanovski. “I’m going to have it after, and now.”
The pair then showed one another respect as the pair came face to face. Exchanging pleasantries ahead of their fight.

Despite this seemingly pleasant interaction. Topuria has been brimming with confidence ever since this fight was announced. Claiming he’s the man to hand Volkanovski his first taste of defeat at featherweight.
Saying he feels he is better than the champion, and that the Australian is getting old. Proclaiming he is the man who’ll walk away with the gold this Saturday at UFC 298.
The champion has said he is as sharp as ever and posted a hilarious promotional video mocking the comments around his age. Telling fans to forget his last outing, where he tasted defeat up a lightweight, and that Volkanovski is as hungry as ever as he’s set to face Topuria over five rounds of action.
