Calvin Kattar is widely regarded as one of the most vicious and talented boxers in the UFC. His tenure in the elite MMA organisation is mixed with a 7-5 record and back in 2022 he suffered back to back losses for the first time in his career. After a year out of the cage Kattar is raring to return to the win column and stake his claim at a shot at the new king Ilia Topuria with a big finish over the former Bantamweight champion. Max Holloway put on an astonishing display over Kattar and the ‘Boston Finisher’ will be glad to see the belt now resides in Madrid.
Aljamain Sterling was on a nine fight win streak at bantamweight and had the most defences in the division’s history. He lost his belt last time out against superstar Sean O’Malley and it prompted his first venture into the 145lbs division this weekend. Sterling has always been a huge bantamweight and many knew that he was finding the weight cuts harder every time, this move was inevitable. Furthermore a spectacular win here could propel him into the title picture, Sterling will want the two weight champion status.
