All Eight UFC Atlantic City Knockouts
Jacob Malkoun Def. Andre Petroski via TKO (soccer kick to body) Round 2, 0:39
The first and potentially strangest knockout of UFC Atlantic City saw Jacob Malkoun best Andre Petroski. Unsure exactly what went down, either Petroski shot a takedown with such velocity he wobbled himself on Malkoun’s hip or the latter caught him with a shot behind the ear. Bizarre either way.
Ibo Aslan Def. Anton Turkalj via TKO (punch) Round 3, 1:32
An all-out slugfest both men threw caution to the wind and went hell for leather. In this situation, it was Ibo Aslan who prevailed. Securing his 13th knockout victory from 13. Aslan’s knockout also earned him a bonus at UFC Atlantic City.
Dennis Buzukja Def. Connor Matthews via TKO (punches) Round 3, 0:22
Dennis Buzukja’s knockout saw him earn his first UFC victory. In a competitive fight, Buzukja found his rhythm before landing an excellent left hook early in the third.
Julio Arce Def. Herbert Burns via TKO (punches) Round 2, 2:00
After a first-round halted by strikes below the belt. Burns found himself one point down. With his opponent chasing the fight, Arce capitalised. Scoring the knockout victory in the second round.
Nate Landwehr Def. Jamall Emmers via KO (punches) Round 1, 4:43
Closing out the UFC Atlantic City main card, Nate Landwehr delivered an excellent knockout over Jamall Emmers. It was Emmers who was the more dangerous man early on. However, Landwerh’s toughness stood strong before dropping Emmers with a beautiful uppercut.
Kyle Nelson Def. Bill Algeo via TKO (punches) Round 1. 4:00
Another barn burner. Kyle Nelson vs Bill Algeo was fun while it lasted. Both men went for the kill, but it was Nelson who landed the kill shots. Wobbling Algeo, landing a barrage of blows scoring the standing technical knockout.
Nursulton Ruziboev Def. Sedriques Dumas via TKO (punches) Round 1, 3:18
A controversial knockout next. The result was maybe not in doubt as the surging Nursulton Ruziboev was in control. The knockout did come after an inadvertent eye poke, leaving a cloud hanging over this result. However, on the night it was declared fair, so it stands. For now.
Joaquin Buckley Def. Vincente Luque via TKO (punches) Round 2, 3:17
The UFC Atlantic City co-main event saw Joaquin Buckley score an all-important knockout. In fine form at welterweight, Buckley took out Vincente Luque and will find himself ranked next week. A devastating barrage of punches once on the mat left the referee no choice but to stop the bout.
