Almighty Fighting Championship 28 returns for their final show of 2022.
The English-based promotion makes the Metrodome in Barnsley their home for the evening. Fans attending can anticipate well-matched amateur and professional action throughout the night.
As always with Almighty FC, the show gives opportunities to the country’s hottest up-and-coming prospects. We are going to take a look at several of them competing on the night.
Almighty Fighting Championship 28 Prospects
Kayne Holmes
Kayne Holmes returns to the Almighty cage on November 26th. A cage he’s no stranger to performing in, having fought under the promotion in his last three outings.
Holmes enters Saturday night’s bout with a formidable record of (6-2). His recent success has granted him an opportunity to compete for his first amateur title against Daniel Ward.
The Lodge Fight Club fighter is high on confidence after winning two out of two thus far in 2022. Holmes began his year in January at Almighty FC 22 with a unanimous decision victory over Adam Battley. Seven months later, he won another unanimous decision at Almighty FC 27 over Harry Edwards.
Brooklyn Thomas
Thomas made his amateur debut in July of 2021, and it was clear the regional scene had a problem on its hands. The young Mancunian cruised his way through his debut by defeating Warren Parry-Jones in round one via triangle choke.
Since then, the 12-Gauge MMA fighter has steamrolled his opposition, attaining a squeaky-clean record of 5-0. Three of Thomas’s five wins have come by stoppage.
Adam Butterworth is the man that stands in the way of Thomas capturing his first amateur title and is no walk in the park. A win over the current champion will give a true indication of where Thomas is in his early career.
Tamas Jakab
Tamas Jakab is certainly an amateur prospect you want to keep a close eye on Saturday evening.
The Hungarian-born fighter boasts a (4-0) record thus far in his early career. Turning to the circuit in 2021, Jakab earned two victories over Tomas Husar and Ben Kellock last year, which set him up to continue to build momentum in 2022.
That’s exactly what happened. Jakab picked up two-wins in a four-month period and looks to close out the year strong and still undefeated when met with the exercised Norwegian Tommy Skaugrim.
A win over Skaugrim will mark Jakab’s second outing under the Almighty FC banner, and with a strong performance, a title fight could be on the horizon.
