We had the chance to talk with Annalisa La Bella ahead of her bout. Hear what she had to say below.
Interview With Annalisa La Bella
Annalisa, we are now in fight week, and you’re all set to make the walk-in Wolverhampton against Chloe Cooke. Talk me through how you’re feeling and how your preparation has been.
I feel very good. I have prepared hard, but now I am fit and ready. I have respect and esteem for my opponent, and I can’t wait to face her. It’s been a while since you last competed inside the cage.
What is the reason behind your layoff, and do you feel rested and re-energized?
Unfortunately, I had a pre-match injury last year where I broke my foot and was unable to fight again anytime soon.
So far in your professional career, you’ve had a tough time, losing your first two fights in the first round.
Were you able to pinpoint what went wrong in those fights, and how can you fix it?
I have faced opponents with much more experience, but I have analyzed together with my coach what didn’t go wrong, and I have tried to correct my mistakes.
You will be facing Chloe Cooke, who makes her professional debut on June 3rd. Looking at her perfect amateur career, what do you expect from her on Saturday night in Wolverhampton?
I’ve studied my opponent, and I know she’s a complete athlete. I expect a very intense match, both standing and on the ground.
Annalisa La Bella on Chloe Cooke Bout
Suppose Chloe looks at your previous two matches and gets ready to bring that version of Annalisa up. What would you have to say to her?
The only thing I’d tell you is I’m there to fight, and that’s what I’m going to do. May the best win. Chloe has had an excellent amateur career and will be making her professional debut.
Looking at her previous fights, what do you think about her skill set and her as a fellow competitor?
I have already said that I admire and respect her, and she is a complete athlete. I sincerely respect all my opponents because they make the same sacrifices and renunciations that I do and the same efforts that I put into the training in the cage. Only who wins is decided.
Finally, let us know what GTFP 22 fans can expect to see from you on Saturday night.
They will see a more updated and motivated version than ever. My skills will see them in a cage, and I won’t anticipate anything. Thanks a lot for the interview; see you soon.
