Anthony Hernandez spent his Saturday evening brutalising Michel Pereira in the UFC Apex.
Hernandez put on a showcase performance against Michel Pereira last night, battering the Brazilian to break multiple middleweight records.
A competitive first round saw Pereira hurt Hernandez with a teep kick to the body and chase him round the Octagon. ‘Fluffy’ however, rallied from the 2nd and used his patented pace to completely outwork his opponent over the following rounds.
Two out of three of the judges ringside scored round 2, 3 and 4 as 10:8 rounds – speaking to the dominance on display.
Anthony Hernandez opened Pereira up with a huge elbow at the beginning of the 5th and continued to rain down elbows. Leading to Herb Dean stopping the fight at 2:22 of the final round.

In addition to earning a pivotal win, Hernandez managed to break multiple middleweight records in his fight.
With over 15 minutes of control time, 10/29 takedowns landed and 70% of his significant strikes landing, Hernandez tore through his Brazilian adversary.
29 takedown attempts is a new divisional best at middleweight and this is not the only record he broke. The TKO stoppage left the final strike differential at 219:29 in favour of ‘Fluffy’. A record which had not been touched since 2006.
Such a performance was appropriately awarded with a welcome $50,000 bonus a day after his 31st birthday.
Not only did he manage to break an opponent undefeated at that weight class, he also broke two records through sheer force and superiority.
