Eddie Hearn recently discussed how Anthony Joshua reveals details on Francis Ngannou fight proposal and why He declined the fight, Claiming that he was offered to fight Ngannou before Tyson Fury took the fight offer up. Joshua is set to face Dillian Whyte on August 12th with his focus on boxing. However, Fury has other ideas with his sights set on the former UFC champion.
The fight between Fury and Ngannou taking place on October 28th as Fury announced. Things could have been different with Hearn’s claims of Joshua being offered the fight before Fury to face the former UFC Heavyweight Champion.
Anthony Joshua on Francis Ngannou
In a recent interview with talkSPORT Eddie Hearn revealed that Francis Ngannou contacted him looking for a boxing bout with Joshua, But the Olympic Gold medalist was not interested in facing the Former UFC Heavyweight Champion. Hearn quotes Joshua by saying:
“Absolutely no interested at all, I wanna become heavyweight world champion again, I’ve got no interest in fighting Francis Ngannou.”

Joshua lost all his WBA (super), IBF, WBO and IBO Heavyweight Titles to the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in 2021. And then the following year failed to reclaim the belts in the much-anticipated rematch.
Joshua says he’s “Got no interest at all” to face Ngannou goes to show how determined he is to regain championships. And he will eventually try to become the undisputed heavyweight champion by unifying all the belts in his division.
The State Of Boxing’s Heavyweight Division
The Gypsy King had the opportunity to unify the titles in a fight with Usyk, But contract talks never being able to prevail. Fury decided to fight Ngannou to the disappointment of fans. Who have been urging Fury to unify the heavyweight titles after his fight with Ngannou.
AJ is focused on working his way back into title contention and he must get a win against Whyte on August 12th. There’s speculation that if Joshua is successful in defeating Whyte that he will then fight Deyonte Wilder in December.
Many fans have been calling for Joshua to face Fury in the ring. In hopes of determining who is the best British heavyweight boxer. But with both camps seemingly shying away from this mega fight. Fury has managed to retain his WBC Heavyweight title and will most likely do until he retires. With fans and pundits hoping to see these British boxing giants clash before either of them retire.
Both Joshua and Whyte are now battling it out for their last chance at title contention. With a loss most likely ending any chance of getting another title shot. Both fighters have faced each other twice. The first time as amateurs when the two clashed in 2009 with Whyte picking up the victory. Then later as a professional in 2015 where this time Joshua got the victory which would go on to propel his career. This time the stakes are higher as they both have title contention dreams riding on this fight.
