Bellator returns to Milan this weekend for Bellator 287. The card will be headlined by lightweights Adam Piccolotti and Mansour Barnaoui in what could be a blockbuster of a fight. The co-main event also has a lot of potential with second-ranked middleweight Fabian Edwards taking on Charlie Ward. Fabian, the younger brother of Leon Edwards, is on a mission for gold of his own and needs to get through a tough opponent if he wants that title shot.
Piccolotti Vs Barnaoui
Adam Piccolotti has been putting in the work since his victory over Georgi Karakhanyan in early 2022. Based in California, Piccolotti has a who’s who of world-class fighters to train with in AKA. Piccolotti is 4-2 in his last six outings and has only lost to the elite of Bellator’s lightweight division in that time.
Mansour Barnaoui will be making his Bellator debut this weekend. It is not often a fighter debuts in the main event in such a big promotion. The Frenchman has seven straight victories, boasting an impressive record of 19-4. Although the lightweight has not fought in a staggering three and a half years, he has not taken the time off lightly. Barnaoui told mymmanews.com that he had been training every single day, whether it was in Dubai, Thailand, or the US. If Barnaoui can get the win this weekend he will likely be hunting for a top name in the promotion.
Edwards Back On Track In Bellator
After back-to-back defeats, Fabian Edwards got back in the win column after beating former UFC champion Lyoto Machida impressively. After his brother’s incredible title win over Kamaru Usman, Fabian eyes his gold at Bellator.
At 6-2 inside the promotion, Edwards is one of the most notable names in Bellator and similarly to his brother has the skill set of a champion. The 29-year-old, not even hitting 30, has plenty of time to get the wins and challenge for the 185lb belt. Easier said than done, however, as he faces 1-4, Charlie Ward, this weekend. Ward is currently on a three-fight win streak and is not a man to be overlooked.
