The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off today in Qatar. The opening game will see the hosts take on Ecuador in group A. Given the worldwide support that the World Cup gets, we thought we would ask a hand-full of Bellator fighters who they think will win the tournament.

Pedro Carvalho is getting increasingly close to a featherweight title shot with Bellator. Last time out, “The Game” beat legend, Mads Burnell in Dublin. He’s set to face-off against Jeremy Kennedy in Dublin once again at Bellator 291 in February.

Brett Johns
Welsh MMA legend, Brett Johns, has fought in Cage Warriors, the UFC and now Bellator. Johns has been publicly pushing for a shot at Dublin’s own, James Gallagher. it is unclear, whether or not that fight will be made at this time. However, it is likely that it would be included on the Dublin card in February.

Andrew Fisher
37-year-old, Andrew Fisher has had two stints with Bellator, but it’s clear this second time is working out better. Since resigning, he has got two big wins against Ashleigh Grimshaw and Attila Korkmaz.

Mads Burnell
Danish legend, Mads Burnell has seen it all. After his brief stint with the UFC between 2017 and 2018, he took his talents to Cage Warriors. After four wins with them, he made the move to Bellator. Since joining, he has gone 3-2 and is still pushing for a shot at gold.

Alfie Davis
Englishman, Alfie Davis, has found a great deal of success since resigning with Bellator in 2019. The 30-year-old has gone 5-1-1, with a recent win against Thibault Gouti in Milan. He will look to make 2023 an even better year for himself.

Ciaran Clarke
Undefeated Bellator featherweight, Ciaran Clarke, is but another of SBG’s growing list of prospects. His record currently sits at 6-0 with two finishes in 2022. It is expected that Clarke will return alongside his teammates at Bellator 291 in Dublin.

Charlie Leary
39-year-old English fighter, Charlie Leary has been with Bellator since 2018. Since signing, he has had back-and-forth results, with his wins against, Tom Green, Chris Bungard and Kiefer Crosbie.
