Bellator was purchased by the PFL last year and has since made some changes within the organisation. Some of these changes include a challenger series which will kick off March 22nd in Belfast, Northern Ireland. PFL Europe will start in Paris this Thursday and it won’t be long before Bellator make the trip over. This is due to Bellator announcing the 2nd event of the challenger series which will be in Paris, France on May 17th.
Usman Nurmagomedov to Main Event the Bellator Paris Card?
Bellator will be heading over to Paris where Usman Nurmagomedov will be defending his Bellator Lightweight Champion against Alexander Shabliy. Usman Nurmagomedov is coming into the fight 17-0 coming off a no-contest against Brent Primus originally a decision victory before Nurmagomedov tested positive for drugs due to prescription medication. Alexander Shabliy comes into the fight 24-3 and made it through to the final on a 9-fight winning streak. During the tournament, Shabliy defeated Musayev by 3rd round knockout and a decision victory over Patricky Pitbull.
Co-Main Event?
The co-main event will feature Patchy Mix who captured the title against Sergio Pettis by 2nd round submission last time out. Mix will have to defend his title against familiar competition in Magomed Magomedov. Magomedov is heading into this fight on a one-fight win streak defeating Danny Sabatello by first-round submission. These two fighters have a history as Patchy Mix eliminated Magomedov from Grand Prix in the semi-final by 2nd round submission.
