With the date set for British Fighting Championship’s upcoming event on April 13th in Middlesbrough, all eyes turn to Ben Singleton as he gears up to face Josh Porter in the cage. Ahead of the highly anticipated bout, we caught up with Singleton to discuss his preparations and thoughts leading into the fight.
“Most of my training has stayed the same as I consistently train as hard as possible, but the difference this time is that I’ve moved up a weight class, therefore I’ve been better fueled, which in return has allowed me to prepare better,” Singleton shared when asked about his preparation for the fight.
Assessing his opponent’s skill set, Singleton acknowledged the challenge ahead:
“Unfortunately there isn’t much footage to go off, but from what I’ve seen, he seems to be a good striker with a varied selection of shots he likes to pick from,” he commented.

Reflecting on potential weaknesses in Porter’s game, Singleton identified areas to exploit:
“Like I said earlier, there isn’t much to go off, but from what I’ve seen, his takedown defense wasn’t the best and neither was his getups/escapes once he was on bottom,” he noted.
When questioned about his general approach to the fight, Singleton emphasized his advantage of moving up a weight class:
“Since I’ve moved up a weight class, I’m going to be a lot fresher on the day since I’m not killing myself to get to 66kg. Due to this, I’m going to look to weaponize my cardio and put down a very fast pace,” he explained.
Looking ahead to the outcome of the fight, Singleton predicted an exciting showdown:
“I predict it’s going to be a fast-paced and exciting fight where I emerge the victor after a 3-round clinical performance,” he confidently stated.
