Heavyweight MMA star Ben Tynan has barely been away from ONE Championship a minute, but he’s already set for his return to the land of the giants.
The charismatic Canadian will step back into action against former World Title challenger Mauro Cerilli at ONE 167: Stamp vs. Zamboanga on Saturday, 8th June, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s renowned Impact Arena, having just scored a first-round victory over Duke Didier earlier this month.
Tynan eased his way to a knockout win against the Aussie powerhouse at ONE Fight Night 21 on 5th April to move to 6-0 in his career and keep his 100 percent finishing rate intact.
“Vanilla Thunder’s” impressive performance followed his debut domination of Kang Ji Won last November. The wrestling sensation cinched in a submission in the third round to announce himself in ONE Championship, and another win may place him directly into the World Title conversation.
It won’t be an easy evening at the office for Tynan, however. Cerilii has faced the who’s who of ONE’s heavyweight MMA division. And while his record may be mixed, the Italian undoubtedly has the potential to turn his opponent’s lights out with one punch.
Ben Tynan vs. Mauro Cerilli Set For ONE 167
Across 15 professional wins, Cerilli has reeled off 10 finishes, and his three wins in the world’s largest martial arts organization so far have come by knockout against heavy hitters Alain Ngalani, Abdulbasir Vagabov, and Paul Elliott.
No matter who the winner of this brawl is, the outcome will have massive repercussions for the ever-growing heavyweight MMA division. A new challenger to Anatoly Malykhin’s divisional crown will emerge, and we’ll all be the better for it.
On top of Tynan and Cerilli’s pivotal bout, ONE 167 is stacked with unmissable battles.
The main event will see Stamp Fairtex defending the ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title for the first time against Denice Zamboanga, and the co-main event is set to feature ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai attempting to put down the challenge of “Smokin” Jo Nattawut in a heated rematch.
