UFC 295 has no shortage of high-stakes bouts, and Matt Frevola and Benoit Saint-Denis meet in one that has far-reaching implications for the lightweight division. Frevola has won three straight fights against Genaro Valdez, Ottman Azaitar, and Drew Dober, all by way of first-round knockout.
As for Saint-Denis, he has reeled off four straight wins against Niklas Stolze, Gabriel Miranda, Ismael Bonfim, and Thiago Moises. All of these wins have come by way of knockout or submission, the latest against Gabriel Miranda with 16 seconds left in round two.
Matt Frevola is currently ranked 14th in the lightweight divison, and Saint-Denis told media he respects Frevola for taking the fight. Regardless, the bout is sure to bring fireworks.
Benoit Saint-Denis Finishes Matt Frevola
As expected, the lightweight matchup started with a frantic pace with Benoit Saint-Denis pushing the pace. Both men exchanged blows and scrambles, but it wasn’t long until Saint-Denis found the home for a beautifully timed high-kick, which landed flush on Frevola’s face.

The victory marked Saint-Denis’ fifth straight victory since joining the ranks of the UFC. He now holds wins over Niklas Stolze, Gabriel Miranda, Islmael Bonfim, Thiago Moises, and now Frevola.
In his post-fight interview, Saint-Denis called out Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje who were in attendance in Maddison Square Garden.
