As UFC Charlotte just went down, we have lots of things to discuss. Here we are going to touch on those who leave the event with their stock the highest. With an eleven-fight card here are our biggest winners from UFC Charlotte Rozenstruik Vs Almeida.
Bryan Battle
Fighting in his hometown, things couldn’t have gone any better for Bryan Battle. Coming into his bout with Gabe Green after suffering his first UFC defeat. The TUF 29 winner bounced back in a massive way.
As Green came parading forward throwing caution to the wind. Battle remained calm and composed. Just 14 seconds on the clock, Battle counted the ferocious start of Green with a beautifully timed punch. Catching his opponent’s chin, Green hit the mat and Battle secured a KO victory.
Making himself 4-1 in the UFC since winning TUF, Battle has laid down a statement of intent at welterweight. Improving fight to fight. Battle has shown his evolution time and time again, this can only bode well for his future.
Johnny Walker
Taking on a former title challenger in the form of Anthony Smith. Johnny Walker turned in a three-round dismantling of Lion Heart. Making it three wins in a row, Walker will enter the light heavyweight top five next week.
Having his ups and downs in the UFC. Walker entered with a bang scoring three highlight reel finishes to open his account. He has since suffered set backs, but finally looks ready to prove his championship quality.
Putting on a masterful display of distance management against Smith. Walker used his length, and leg kicks to ease to a unanimous decision victory. Not the prettiest display, but the intelligence is a sign of the Johnny Walker evolution.
Ian Garry
The future has now become the present. Taking on number 15 Daniel Rodriguez. Garry had his hands full on paper. Once the cage door shut, Garry shows the world he’s ready and he is here to stay.
Showing up in a big way. Garry got the job done in the first with a stunning head-kick KO. Moving to 12-0, he’ll enter the top 15 in fine form. Unblemished as a pro and in the UFC the Irishman is proving the hype is real.
In his post-fight speech, Garry already had his next opponent in mind. Taking to the mic the Irish star called for a future match-up with a mainstay among the best at welterweight, Neil Magny.
