As the countdown to Goliath Fight Series 6 ticks away, Blain McGill finds himself gearing up for another electrifying bout in his amateur career. With his 12th walk to the cage fast approaching, Blain shares his excitement for the upcoming challenge.
“Yes mate, I can’t wait to get in the cage for the 12th time and show the levels once again,” Blain expresses eagerly. “I’m looking to get as many fights this year and loads of experience in these next few months until I turn pro.”
Known for seeking out tough challenges throughout his amateur journey, Blain is no stranger to facing formidable opponents. Reflecting on his upcoming bout with Stuart George, Blain remains confident in his abilities.
“Yeah, I’ve watched Stuart George’s fights. He likes to grapple and comes with pressure, and that’s right up my street,” Blain comments assuredly. “I come to fight and don’t take a step back, and I’m ready for the 5 rounds if needs be. As you’ve seen on my record, I’ve fought all the best in Ireland at welterweight, and now in lightweight. Bring on the 23rd.”
Blain McGill Ready to Put on A Show
Analysing Stuart’s skill set, Blain anticipates a well-rounded challenge.
“Decent grappler mate, decent striker,” Blain assesses. “I think he will try to wrestle and hold me to the cage, but that will not work. I’m looking forward to testing his skills, and may the best man win.”
With the promotion’s title on the line, Blain acknowledges the added excitement to his camp.
“Yeah, it’s great to be flying over to Scotland to fight 5 rounds for a title. It’s a great experience, flying over. I can’t wait to get in there and show the work we have been doing at Fight Academy Ireland, and thanks to Goliath MMA for the opportunity.”
For the sold-out Scottish crowd eagerly awaiting the event, Blain promises an unforgettable performance.
“I’m ready mate, ready to put on a show for the Scottish fans,” Blain declares confidently. “I believe with training in the best club in the country and the best fighters in the world, I’ll be bringing the Goliath MMA title back home to DERRY. LET’S GO.”
