Highly touted prospect Bo Nickal(2-0) will make his hotly anticipated return on Season 6 of Dana Whites Contender Series in Week 10 on September 27. His opponent Donovan Beard(7-1), just won the Cage Fury FC middleweight champion on the promotion’s most recent card CFFC in late July. While Nickal has impressed the masses, this is, without a doubt, his biggest challenge to date.
Bo Nickal Set for Second DWCS Appearance
Bo Nickal only carries a 2-0 pro MMA record, but his hype comes from his impressive wrestling pedigree. As a D1 collegiate wrestler out of Penn State, Nickal went a staggering 120-3 in his 4-year career in college. During that run, he managed to secure three D1 national championships and three Big Ten conference championships. After college, he went on to win the 2019 U23 World Championship and the US Open National Championship. Bo was also a finalist at the US Olympic Team Trials and a Final X Contestant in 2019.
Cage Fury FC middleweight champion Donovan Beard is 7-1 in his pro MMA career. Fighting out of Off the Chain MMA in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Beard only went pro in 2020 and has been blazing a trail on route to the UFC ever since. With five of his seven of his wins coming by way of finish, two submissions, and three KO/TKOs, Beard is a presentable threat to any prospect looking to burst onto the scene in the UFC.
With the matchup set and Bo ready for his first real test against Donovan Beard, how do you see this going?
