Bobby Green Batters UFC Legend Jim Miller at UFC 300
Both veterans have an opportunity to make a statement in a last hurrah in the big spotlight. Miller looks to capitalise on the momentum of his winning streak whilst Green looks to get back to winning ways.
Bobby Green returns to the octagon after being brutally finished by Jalin Turner at UFC Fight Night Austin. Turner also makes an appearance on this card facing off Renato Moicano. The KO Green suffered was bad and the stoppage worse with the referee stepping in after a prolonged period of time. This could be disastrous for Green’s punch resistance for this bout against Miller. However with his well documented head movement he can minimise any chances at being KO’d. And Greens hands can cause problems for Miller
Jim Miller looks to continue his win streak of 2 most recently subbing Benitez on UFC Fight Night Ankalaev vs Walker 2. The well rounded veteran is the only fighter to appear on UFC 100,200, and 300. He has had success on 100 and 200 and the question is can he make it 3 for 3. Miller can capitalise on Greens recent KO defeat and pressuring him on the feet and mixing in the grappling.
What Unfolded?
This veterans match up opened up quickly both fighters throwing both utilising kicks. Over the course of round 1 both were landing strikes but Green’s were cleaner. But towards the end of round 1 Miller rocks Green in an exchange and Bobby returns with some knees. In round 2 Green opened up more landing his straight shots with greater frewuency and avoiding most of what Miller was throwing back at him. Green’s jab was money with Miller wearing it’s success on his face with a swollen right eye and a cut to match. Miller’s nose also started bleeding.
Round 3 Green picked up where he left off landing consistently on Miller with his punches. A bloodied Miller was then dropped with 1 minute to spare. Green unloaded ground and pound on an unresponsive Miller who survived the final round/seperator
