Bradley Skeete Demands Fight For His Fighter
Bradley Skeete recently took to Instagram to demand a fight for his fighter. The former British welterweight champion has since become a boxing trainer. His main attraction is Fran Hennessy, who is signed to Ben Shalom and Boxxer.
Skeete has claimed that a ‘reigning world champion’ was accepted to fight Fran on the London March 7 all-women’s Boxxer show. He claimed Fran does ‘huge numbers’ and is a promoter’s ‘marketing dream’. He also claimed that she was ‘told she had a slot on the March 7 card’; however, her slot has since not been announced.
Fran Hennessy picked up her first professional title in her last outing back in October 2024 on the Azim-Davies undercard. She defeated the tough Ana De Moraes via unanimous decision for the WBA Intercontinental Super-Welterweight title. It was a slick, exciting performance that caught the eyes of many fans.
Surely now Boxxer will get her a slot on the March 7 show, if even her trainer is calling them out for their false promises.
Not the First Time Boxxer Has Been Called Out
This certainly isn’t the first time Shalom & Boxxer have left their fighters out to dry. Many fighters have taken to social media with interviews over the past year, calling for fight dates and opportunities.
In 2024, Viddal Riley took to Instagram to state that he had been ready to fight but had not been offered a fight date.
Just last year, Joe Gallagher also took to an interview complaining about his fighter Natasha Jonas not getting a fight date. Claiming she was ‘disrespected’ and it was a ‘terrible way to treat a champion.’
Many other fighters were also stuck without dates. This comes as no surprise, with Boxxer only doing nine shows last year. Compared to the 16 shows in their first year, their lack of shows is concerning and puts their renewal at huge risk. Especially when fighters and their teams are calling it out.
