UFC Fight Night in Jacksonville produced some incredible performances, from top to bottom of the card. One of those was Brendan Allen with his first round submission win over the Brazilian Bruno Silva. This increases Allen’s fight win streak to a staggering seven, eyeing up higher in the rankings.
In his post-fight media conference, Allen spoke about who he wants next. He stated that Jared Cannnonier “looked really good in his last fight. Very good, but I’m a different animal.” Allen then went on to explain that “he’s (Cannonier) a fun fight. It’s a matchup that gets me to the top.” Currently, when posted, Jared Cannonier is ranked third in the division, whilst Brendan Allen is ranked 13th.
Brendan Allen Fears No Man
Allen then went on to speak about a potential bout with Sean Strickland: “I’d like to get that fight just because it’s a rematch, and obviously I want that.”
Allen went on to call out a man no one else seemed to want to fight. He stated that he fears “no man” and that Khamzat Chimaev “can come get it, I don’t care!”.
Khamzat Chimaev, in his last fight, managed to dominate Kevin Holland with a first-round submission. The Swedish fighter managed to get a successful takedown within 20 seconds. Chimaev shot within an incredible 2 seconds.
Although Holland had trained for a different fight with UFC legend Tony Ferguson, this was still impressive. Chimaev has yet to lose in his professional career, with 5 of his 6 UFC wins being stoppages.
An incredibly brave call out from Allen, but it is clear he certainly backs his own ability, calling himself “a different beast”. Chimaev is currently ranked 4th at welterweight but did fight at middleweight in his last fight.

Allen also called out Marvin Vettori. This came with no slander to the fighter and no explanation. This cemented that Allen believes he is ready to fight at the very top.
