UFC Vegas 82: Brendan Allen Eager to Make Mark on Historic Card in 2024
During the post-fight press conference, the 27-year-old reiterated his aspirations, expressing eagerness to secure a place on the monumental UFC 300 card next year. Emphasizing a commitment to face any opponent designated by the UFC for a guaranteed title shot, Allen stated:
“Name doesn’t matter. I’ve worked so hard to get here. I’ve sacrificed so much to get here in my personal life and every other part of my life. Come April, hopefully around that time, hopefully UFC 300 – I’m coming. I’m coming. 2024, and new (champion). I stand by that.”
In anticipation of the bout, the central question revolved around how Allen and Craig would navigate each other’s grappling skills, given their combined 11 octagon finishes by submission. Ultimately, Allen’s superiority became evident as he amassed an impressive seven minutes and 58 seconds of ground control time before securing the fight-ending choke.
Confident and assertive, Allen commented on the outcome:
“Look at his face and look at mine. We’ve seen who’s got the better grappling. I think we answered that question.”
Notably, Allen’s confidence is now backed by a string of victories, propelling him into the spotlight and signaling to the world that his self-assurance is well-founded. He envisions a bright future ahead, confident that he hasn’t reached his prime yet and anticipates even better moments in his career. With his sights set on the UFC title, Allen remains grounded, but does back himself to go all the way.
