With the news yesterday of the PFL coming to the UK, it is now time to announce some fights. Three Brits have had their next matches confirmed for PFL 5 on June 24th. One of those men is Brendan Loughnane. Among the top faces of PFL and their UK expansion, he will take on the American Boston Salmon.
Brendan Loughnane
After winning his first fight of the 2022 season Loughnane has got three points on the board. He looks to add to his tally in June. With the added incentive of making it to the semis to compete in front of a UK crowd in August. Brendan will be doing everything he can to win this one and earn his spot in the final four.
The last time out was a majority decision victory against Ryoji Kudo. After a shaky start, Brendan regained his composure and turned up the heat later on in the fight. An accidental head clash in the third saw the fight go to the judges early who scored the contest in favour of the Mancunian. Not competing at his best yet still picking up the win is a good sign, and shows what a talent he is. Especially impressive against very tough competition like Ryoji.
Not looking for a repeat this time around, expect Loughnane to turn up as focused as ever when he takes on Boston. Using all his MMA tools and experience will be necessary when competing next month.
Boston Salmon
Competing in his first PFL tournament the UFC alumnus didn’t get off to the start he had hoped for. After losing to another former UFC star in the form of Seymon Moraes. 8-4 as a pro, previous to this loss he was riding a two-fight winning streak.
Despite his debut loss, Boston is still a tough match-up for anyone, having ability in all facets of the game don’t count him out just yet. With his back against the wall, he will be looking to ruin Brendan’s potential homecoming and propel himself up the leaderboard and head to the UK himself to compete in the semis
PFL in the UK
With a star-studded lineup of talent, we will see this year’s tournament winner take on a whole host of top Featherweights. Mixing it up will be key to gaining the top spot and the UK’s Brendan Loughnane is one of the favourites to take the crown.
