Brendan Loughnane has done it! Bringing the Featherweight belt back to Britain as well as a huge One Million Dollars.
A great fight, Brendan Loughnane got better as the fight went on. Making constant adjustments throughout he pulled away from Bubba and there was no stopping him.
After heartbreak in last year’s semi-finals, 2022 is truly the year of Brendan. Bringing the PFL to the UK for the first time, and delivering on the biggest stage, the UK has a new hero in MMA.
Round 1
A primarily striking round one sees each man have moments. It’s Loughnane who has the volume, but it’s Bubba who landed the better individual shots. Jenkins attempted to mix in a takedown but all attempts were stuffed by the Brit.
Round 2
Another striking round to start. Brendan Loughnane’s movement is doing well for him, allowing him to mix it up and land. Jenkins is feinting the takedown forcing Brendan to lower his hands to allow him to land. The Brit is finding his rhythm much better this round. Bubba’s face is wearing the damage at the end of the second.
Round 3
The leg kicks through the first two rounds have begun to pay dividends for Brendan Loughnane. Unable to move as freely as he likes, Jenkins is getting caught more frequently now his legs are compromised. Pouring on the pressure with thirty on the clock. Brendan has the championship in his sites.
Round 4
After coming in strong in rounds two and three, Brendan Loughnane has found his flow state. Unable to miss and landing at will. The Mancunian pours it on. Landing blow after blow he hurts Jenkins and swarms for the kill. Forcing the referee to step in and declare Loughnane the winner.
What’s next for Brendan Loughnane?
