It will be special when Brett John’s Fight Night 1 goes down May 7th at the Carmarthen Show Ground in South Wales. The pro-main event featuring well known UK fighters will be the desert of the show, but the amateur undercard is the main course.
Expect a world-class amateur undercard with AT LEAST two title fights. On Sunday, we spoke with Brett and confirmed that the Amateur Middleweight Championship would be amongst those up for grabs. Who exactly will be fighting for it, you may ask? We have you covered.
Middleweight Championship: Roan Crocker vs James Wamsley
Roan Crocker is a well-known name in Wales, and the Shore MMA prospect gets the title fight in May. Across from him will be Lions Den fighter James Wamsley, who’s also been on a tear as of late.
Roan most recently competed at CWA Wales last month. He walked away the Middleweight Champion there as well. Since moving to Shore MMA, Roan is yet to suffer a loss. Still, his talent was clear well before he joined up with Shaky and Jack. Roan won the gold medal in 2018 at the IMMAF European Juniors. That is how Roan made his MMA debut. Now partnered up with Richard and Jack Shore, Roan expects to take his career to the next level.
James Wamsley has a record of 3-1 coming into this fight. Although his most recent fight was a loss to Bertie Oakes at GTFP, James has been on a tear. The end of 2021 saw James winning fights in October and December prior to the GTFP event in March of this year. The focus now switches to the task at hand, to the Championship belt and Roan Crocker.
