Bryan Battle is back. He is set to face Ange Loosa in the co main of UFC Vegas 88.
The Ultimate Fighter season 29 winner will be back this Saturday. After a 6 month layoff, the 29 year old welterweight is ready to step back into the octagon. With four finishes in his last six fights, Bryan “Pooh Bear” Battle is set to be in his first co main in the UFC. However, before that, In the main event of UFC Vegas 88, we have knockout artist Tai Tuivasa facing off against streaky Marcin Tybura. With Tuivasa being a on three fight losing streak, he is looking to bounce back and get back to his winning ways. Perhaps another streak could get him back to the top of the division.
While we wait for the big heavyweights, the co main event will feature a welterweight showdown. Some people would say with the impressive roll Bryan Battle has since joining the UFC, he is not too far from the rankings. Battle will be riding two finishes back to back. His only loss in the UFC came to the hands of Rinat Fakchretdinov on short notice. A pretty bad stylistic matchup he had. Now facing Ange Loosa Saturday, another bad matchup potentially that Battle would want to prove he can fight anyone.
Brayn Battle on What He Has to Do
Bryan Battle was at the media availability spotting a new look with blonde hair and tattoos. He detailed what he has to do at UFC Vegas 88 against his opponent.
“Namely the opponent. I think he’s really underrated, he’s very very dangerous, very very tough, and he’s a good person for me to showcase my skills against”
“Since I’ve gotten to the UFC, there’s a lot of areas I’ve improved in, a lot of areas I’ve gotten better. Since the last fight, there’s a lot of places I’ve gotten better and improved in. Someone this tough, someone this good really gives me a chance to show how much better I’ve got.”
Battle explains the keys to victory;
“He wants to fight me, he doesn’t want to fight me. Once we start going at it on Saturday night he’s going to realize he doesn’t want to be in there with me. Cool, cool, I’m happy that he got the fight he wanted. That’s good for him.”
Lastly, Bryan Battle talks about the UFC Apex.
“If you count my TUF fights, which I do, those were against professionals, I have more wins in the Apex than anyone else. I’m just going to add to the list on Saturday. What I will say is that I am ready to fight in front of big crowds again. Not only am I ready but the people are ready. That’s another thing about this fight, I have to make a statement and show them that I’m the kind of person who can put butts in seats. I can get views. You’ve got to put me in prime time position because I’m a prime time player.”
Another exciting round of UFC following UFC 299.
