Cage Warriors 135 and 136 will take place on back to back days in Manchester next week and will be action-packed. On Friday, April 1st, Cage Warriors 135 will commence. The next day, they run it back with CW 136. The fights will be brought to you as always by UFC Fight Pass, and you won’t want to miss them.
The Cage Warrior’s back-to-back extravaganza is just a week away, but the fights keep coming. Manchester will see Light Heavyweight action when Cage Warriors comes to town. In the first event of the promotional double-header, Hugo Guillon and Matty Byfield will wage war in the cage.
Both prospects seem to have promising futures, but only one can walk out next week with their hand raised. They will both be making their promotional debut for Cage Warriors and looking to make a statement.
The Spotlight: Matty Byfield
Matty enters this scrap with a pro record of 3-1 after having suffered his first setback in October of 2021. He is making his Cage Warriors debut. He is a member of the highly-touted Team Renegade. Being amongst Jai Herbert among others at Renegade, Byfield has definitely had the proper training heading into this fight.
In all three of his victories, Byfield stopped his opponents in the first round. A thirteen-second knockout, followed by a ground and pound stoppage, and ultimately an Arm-Triangle submission make up the prospect’s finish gallery. By all means, Matty Byfield plans to add another stoppage to his record.
A win in his Cage Warriors debut would erase the sour taste given off by his first pro loss a few months prior and silence the doubters. Being victorious in front of the UFC Fight Pass audience could push Byfield up the CW ranks, but Hugo Guillon stands in Byfield’s way. Matty is determined to run straight through him and make a statement to future opposition.
Will Matty Byfield come out on top and make a statement in Manchester?
