Cage Warriors continue to deliver with their fight announcements lately. In the wake that their card in Belfast on June 25th was announced, they added this middleweight bout between two prospects early in their careers. Paddy Mccorry will be welcoming Jordan O’Neill to the professional rankings in this bout.
Paddy Mccorry
McCorry (2-0 pro MMA) is a young prospect riding a three-fight win streak right back to his amateur days. Going 5-3 in his amateur career, McCorry picked up plenty of experience on the scene before picking up his pro gloves. He has picked up two victories via rear-naked choke and is also dangerous on the feet, with many finishes coming via KO/TKO.
McCorry’s last fight was in December 2021, but the middleweight looks to have an active second half of 2022. A decisive win here would certainly help his case for that.
Jordan O’Neill
Jordan O’Neill (5-3 amateur) will be making his professional debut in this fight, also dropping down from 205lb.
Throughout his amateur career, he showed plenty of promise. After three losses to begin his career, he has rebounded and is now on a five-fight win streak. More than ready for the professional rankings, McCorry will be a good test for O’Neill here on Cage Warriors.
O’Neill has an entertaining style that is fun to watch, even from his early days. If he can carry that over into his professional career, I have no doubts he’ll be able to go far.
Paddy Mccorry vs Jordan O’Neill
Both men are prospects that are early in their careers as far as experience goes. However, the Irish scene isn’t known for pushing fighters into the deep end. From what I have seen of the two, they have been more than ready for a while, and this will be a fun fight to watch.
