Cain Morrow Ready to Perform at Unity FC
Cain, back to work after a very busy and active 2023. How pleased were you with the activity you got, the cage time you attained, and the overall year you had?
Aye, obviously, the year started better for me than how it ended, but I have made some adjustments to areas in my game where I have been lacking, without a doubt.
The end of the year certainly didn’t unfold how you’d envisioned, but overall, it was a great year of adding to your forever-growing skill set. Mentally, how are you with defeats? How did you handle facing back-to-back defeats for the first time? Were there any positives you could take?
In all honestly, at first, I didn’t deal very well with my last 2 losses as I know the reasons why I had to take them were marginal, and I allowed some personal things in my life to take a toll on my overall training. They have definitely made me grow as a martial artist and as a person, which will prevail come Feb. 17.
On Feb. 17 at Unity FC in Darlington, you face Zanyar Kamaran. What were the thoughts behind taking this matchup and the challenges he’s going to present to you next month?
He was the first opponent I was presented with once me and my team and I decided I was ready to compete again. My thoughts on anything he may present to me to be a problem have been and are continually being addressed on the mats and with my team.
Fight of The Night
You are somebody who doesn’t like leaving the fight in the judge’s hands, meanwhile, Kamara’s more prone to going the distance. With both in mind, what can the fans tuning in and attending expect from this matchup?
They can expect it to be entertaining as I have never been in a boring fight; even when some of my previous opponents can’t handle the heat on the feet and try to keep me grounded, I always provide an entertaining smash-up.
Finally, how important is it for you to start with a bang and pick up some momentum once again?
Listen, I have been more consistent with my training, recovery, nutrition, and discipline in this fight camp than any before, so I expect nothing other than a straight-up victory.
