After undergoing eight months behind bars on attempted murder charges, former UFC heavyweight champion and former WWE star Cain Velasquez was granted bail on Tuesday.
The judge decided after thirteen hours of a pre-trial that occurred over two days.
In February, Velasquez was charged by Santa Clara County police for chasing down Harry Goularte in his vehicle and shooting at him. However, Velasquez struck Goularte’s stepfather, who was also alongside him in the truck.
It was reported that the 40-year-old chased Goularte for eleven miles in a “high-speed chase” before firing at the vehicle.
The reason behind the indecent unfolding? Goularte had been charged with sexual assault of a relative of Velasquez, who he later revealed to be his four-year-old son.
Previously Velasquez had been refused bail four times, with the reasoning being the former champion would take further action if released. Now free, Velasquez must comply with authorities at all times, wear a GSP tracker, can’t come within 300 yards of the alleged victims, have no weapons and numerous other conditions.
