O’Neil will be looking to go 5-0 in the UFC and 10-0 as a professional fighter. Casey is coming off of a split decision victory against Roxanne Modafferi back in February.
Casey O’Neil vs Jessica Eye Set for UFC 276 on July 2-
As for Eye, she is currently riding a three-fight losing streak. In her last outing, she was beaten by Jennifer Maia back in July of 2021.
Currently ranked 12th in the 125-pound division, O’Neil will be looking to burst into the top ten rankings with a big win over Eye. Jessica Eye is currently ranked at number ten in the division.
O’Neil, who trains at Xtreme Couture MMA in Las Vegas, has caught the eye of the MMA faithful since signing with the promotion. The Scottish born has set herself aspirations of competing for a UFC title in the very near future. Heading into this showdown with Eye, it’s fair to say that this will be Casey’s toughest test to date.
A fourth defeat in a row for Eye could be costly. With four straight losses, the UFC may release the former flyweight title challenger. Having not won a fight since 2019, Eye has struggled to find some consistency since her three-fight win streak over Kalindra Faria, Jessica-Rose Clark and Katlyn Chookagian.
As of right now, the only other official bout for UFC 276 is a women’s flyweight outing between Miesha Tate vs Lauren Murphy.
This week, Ariel Helwani took to Twitter to announce that the UFC is targeting a men’s flyweight title fight between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno.
