Charles Martin claims to have the right tools and power to take out the Heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma.
The American heavyweight has called out the 20-year-old and says he has the power for the job.
Charles Martin has been in many big championship fights and is now on a quest to take on the prospect Moses Itauma. The now 38-year-old has rebounded from a decision loss to fellow American Jared Anderson with a KO of Matthew McKinney.
He now has called out Itauma in the hopes of another big fight before retirement.
“Let’s see if he can take it as good as he gives it. I can KO anyone in the world, including a 20-year-old.”
Martin claimed it will be very different when Itauma has another big puncher coming back at him.
“Right now, he has been stopping everyone quick, but it is real different when another puncher is coming back at you.”
Itauma won’t be the first English prospect that Martin will face in the ring. Martin’s most famous fight came in a KO loss to UK star Anthony Joshua. Before the Joshua fight, Charles Martin was 23-0-1 and on a tear, but since he is 7-3-0, slipping up against Jared Anderson, Adam Kownacki, and Luis Ortiz.
Charles Martin Has A Tough Task-
Itauma, on the other hand, has been tipped for greatness by many boxing experts. The most recent is Frank Warren, who is keen to get him back out.
“He’ll fight in the next three months, no doubt about that. He’ll be fighting then, and I’m looking forward to seeing him back in the ring. He’s a tremendous fighter. You look at him, [he only turned] 20 last month. Everybody talks about the next big fighter, the one that they think is going to be the next big thing — they mention him.”
Although Warren doesn’t mention an opponent for Itauma, a veteran like Martin could be a great step for the young Heavyweight. Itauma has recently faced Dempsey McKean on a Riyadh Season card and won via TKO.
Moses Itauma has made his intentions clear in capturing the world titles as soon as he can so Charles Martin won’t quite be on his mind.
