After a successful mixed martial arts debut four months ago, Charlie Ash is determined to build on that when he makes the walk this Saturday at Almighty FC 32.
Almighty Fighting Championship returns to Deeside, Wales, this Saturday with a fun-filled card. The card will host both professional and MMA action, with Dylan McGee and Ayoub Tounsi taking the headlining spot.
Before the fight, we talked with a handful of athletes, including Charlie Ash. Hear what he has to say on his upcoming bout below.
Interview With Charlie Ash
Charlie, fight week and days out from your second MMA outing. How are you feeling physically and mentally after you recently got the first one out of the way?
I feel very sharp physically and even stronger mentally. My first fight gave me a lot of confidence but taught me a lot about the importance of staying composed and calm.
Talk to me. Now you’ve had some time to digest your MMA debut, how did you find the experience as a whole?
His experience on BMF was unreal. From the walkout to getting my hand raised, I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to showcase my talent to the UK MMA scene.

Phil Zhu is the man you defeated in your debut. How did you evaluate your performance at Badmofo MMA, and was there anything you didn’t get to show that you hope to show this Saturday at AFC 32?
My performance at BMF was far from my best, and I am excited to show more of my game and just how good I can be.
I believe you suffered an opponent change in the lead-up to this one, and the man across from you is now Callum Thompson. Did the change in opponents affect your preparation in any way?
The opponent change didn’t throw me off my preparation. The gameplay remains the same.
I believe Callum is making his debut, so you more than likely know nothing about him. Is it just a case of focussing on what you’re bringing to the table as opposed to what your opponent is?
Not knowing anything about my opponent has given me more time to reflect on my own skills, and I’m ready to show them this Saturday at AFC 32.
