Charlie Holmes Interview
How much have you developed as a fighter over the last 6 months?
I think I have developed loads as a fighter over the past 6 months been working hard on things I needed to work on and I’m happy with the work that’s been put in for this camp.
Did getting a finish in your debut give you a large amount of confidence?
Yeah, I suppose could say it gave me confidence, but I didn’t feel like I looked decent at all out there with my debut, I know I’m a lot better and this time around I’m going to keep my composure and work on the plan that I’ve got to work with.
Charlie On His Last Fight
Your last fight only lasted about 1 minute, are you wanting to spend a little more time inside the cage this weekend?
Yeah, I’d like it to be longer this time around and get a better feel of the cage and test myself but if it doesn’t go past 1 minute again and my hands raised, I wouldn’t be complaining.
Do you know much about your opponent, or are you focusing more on your game?
I don’t know anything about my opponent. I’m going into the fight blind, but it doesn’t bother me. I’m focusing on myself this camp and the things I’ve wanted and needed to work on to improve my MMA skills and hopefully, they all come together on Saturday.
How do you see the fight going come Saturday evening?
I’m going in for the win obviously but I’m expecting a tough battle with Lucas all respect to him and his team but the work I have been putting in this camp has been nothing but positive and solid work throughout and I’m looking to get the finish before the 3 rounds are up.
What are the plans for the rest of 2023 should you get your hand raised?
Whatever the outcome is Saturday I’m going to get straight back into the gym and get myself ready for the next fight in the future I’m confident going in with the camp I’ve had so if no injuries or anything happens then I’ll be straight back in there in a few months’ time – whatever happens.
