Tonight’s UFC Vegas 82 mid-main card fight features an intriguing lightweight contest between Chase Hooper and Jordan Leavitt.
The UFC returns to the Apex Centre in Las Vegas for a dynamic fourteen-bout fight card. The main event showcases a middleweight battle between Brendan Allen and Paul Craig, marking Craig as the first Scottish mixed martial artist to headline a UFC event.
Chase Hooper steps into tonight’s fight with a professional record of (12-3-1 MMA). The young American has quickly made a name for himself in the UFC, debuting in the promotion in 2019. Known for his grappling prowess, Hooper has secured most of his victories by submission. At just 24 years old, he’s already shown promise, with notable wins over Peter Barrett via heel hook and a submission win against Felipe Colares at UFC 274. His last fight was a triumph, securing a Unanimous Decision over Nick Fiore. Prior to that, he suffered a TKO loss to Steve Garcia.
Chase Hooper vs Jordan Leavitt
On the other side, Jordan Leavitt enters the cage with an impressive professional record of (11-2 MMA). Known for his flamboyant personality and dynamic fighting style, Leavitt has been turning heads since his UFC debut. The Las Vegas native made a statement in his first UFC fight, slamming Matt Wiman to a knockout victory. He’s continued to impress, with a recent win over Trey Ogden by split decision at UFC 273 and a recent TKO win over Victor Martinez. Leavitt’s two defeats came at the hands of Claudio Puelles and of course that infamous night at the O2 against Paddy Pimblett. However, he’s bounced back strongly since then, showcasing his improved striking and submission skills.

The grappling ensued straight away in the first round as Hooper fought for an armbar. Leavitt escaped and the two fighters exchanged shots on the ground as they scrambled. After a quick transition, Hooper took the back of Leavitt and secured the rear naked choke win.
