After Michal Figlak withdrew from the scheduled bout in London, Chris Duncan has been awaiting confirmation of his new opponent. Just over one month away from his debut bout, Chris finally has a name.
About Chris Duncan
Chris Duncan earned his UFC contract through the contender series in 2022 after a thrilling one-round war with Charlie Campbell. He was scheduled to make his full debut on UK soil at UFC 286 against Michal Figlak, a product of the successful UK organisation Cage Warriors. This fight fell through due to an injury sustained by Figlak. 9-1 as a pro, Duncan’s sole loss came in 2021 to now-fellow UFC lightweight Viacheslav Borshchev. Of his nine victories, only one is via decision so it is clear Duncan is a finisher, with four of the eight finishes coming within the first round. Don’t blink on March 18th.
A few different names were discussed for the replacement opponent for the Scotsman, Oban Elliott was the most notable however it did not materialise and now it will be Omar Morales who makes the walk in London.
About Omar Morales
Omar Morales boasts a record of 11-3 with his last fight being in June 2022 against Serbian lightweight Uros Medic. Since joining the UFC through the contender series in 2019 Morales has moved between the lightweight and featherweight divisions. Looking for the right weight class to progress higher in the UFC. Since joining the UFC the Venezuelan is 3-3 and he will look to improve that record on March 18th against the Scottish 29-year-old Chris Duncan.
A fellow Venezuelan representative already has a fight on the UFC 286 card in the form of Veronica Macedo. She’ll make her return to action for the first time in almost three years when she takes on Julianna Miller.
Can you see this being a successful debut full debut for Duncan or will Morales upset the Scotsman?
