Christopher Radcliffe is hopeful of a quick night at the office at Golden Ticket Fight Promotions 23, but he is prepared to go the distance in an all-out war if needed.
Golden Ticket Fight Promotions 23 will unfold next Saturday, Sept 2, at the K.K Steelmill in Wolverhampton, England. As always, with a GTFP show, fans attending and tuning in on PPV can expect well-matched action throughout.
Ahead of his bout, we had the opportunity to catch up with Christopher Radcliffe. Hear what he had to say below.
Interview With Christopher Radcliffe
Christopher, you’re all set to return to the cage for the first time in over a year. How’s the mind feeling as you prepare to make the walk?
My mind is in an excellent place at the moment. I’m performing better than ever in training, and I feel like my diet, recovery and strength & conditioning routine have been really dialled in for this camp. I can’t wait to get back in there.
In your last outing before undergoing a period of inactivity, you fell short to Mikey Tranter. Before that, you won four fights on the bounce. What was the reason for the break, and how much do you feel the time away from competition has allowed your body to heal and recharge?
After the fight with Mikey, it was found that I’d fractured my cheekbone, which required surgery to repair and some recovery after that. I’ve watched that fight back a few times, and despite not getting the nod from the judges, I’m very proud of my performance, and it’s been an excellent resource for my development.
I’ve been in the gym consistently since then, always with the next fight in mind, and I’m very happy that I’ve been matched for this Golden Ticket card.
Christopher Radcliffe on Time Away
During your time away, assuming you’ve still been training and working in the gym. What new tools can we expect to see added to the arsenal of Christopher Radcliffe?
I spent a good few months after the injury, only grappling to allow it to heal up, and made huge strides just focussing on that area – winning a national BJJ comp and then receiving my purple belt. I then transitioned back into striking and sparring and have made the same kind of progress, focussing there. So, I feel like my whole game has levelled up since the last time I fought.
You’re coming back and will meet Moseke Becke. What do you know about him, and how do you feel your skillsets match up with one another?
I know he trains out of a very respectable gym in Renegade. He finished both of his opponents with strikes this year, so he’s been active recently, and it looks like he’s got good power in his strikes. On paper, I’ve got more experience, so we’ll see how I can deal with that challenge.
Moseke has had two fights and two stoppages. Looking at his tape and the style he possesses, do you anticipate him bringing anything to the cage that you’ve not seen before, given your experience?
I haven’t seen much tape on him, but I think one question mark is on how good he is in the grappling. Honestly, I feel ready to meet him in the middle and trade or test him on the mat.
Improvements
After a year on the sidelines, what would it mean to you to return with a bang? Is it wins by any means necessary, or is it just to enjoy yourself and showcase your improvements in your time away?
Well, I’d certainly enjoy coming back with a bang and getting an early finish! But I always value the experience that comes with a longer, grinding war. It all depends on what openings he gives me on the night.
Finally, leave us with your official predictions and any last words for Moseke before the Octagon door closes on you both.
I predict that, like all my previous fights on Golden Ticket, you’ll get bell-to-bell action, skills, and entertainment to challenge the pro fights.
Moseke, train hard, make weight, and let’s put on a fucking show!
