Ciryl Gane‘s home was allegedly robbed during his UFC Paris main event last Saturday. According to a report by French newspaper Le Parisian, burglars looted the UFC heavyweight’s home in Nogent-sur-Marne as he fought Serghei Spivac at Accor Arena in the French capital.
Ciryl Gane’s Home Robbed
The report stated that police were called to Gane’s residence on Sunday morning. They reportedly discovered forced entry to the front door and missing items that totalled over 150,000 Euros. The items that were allegedly stolen include jewellery and a Rolex watch. Furthermore, an anonymous source was cited in the report and alleges that a member of Gane’s entourage tipped off the thieves regarding the former title challenger’s schedule.
Gane Returns to Winning Ways
After defeating Tai Tuivasa in devastating fashion back in 2022, Gane was given the chance to fight Jon Jones for the heavyweight title. He came up short and was submitted by ‘Bones’ in the very first round. Consequently, the Frenchman received heavy backlash and criticism after the one-sided affair. The consensus was that ‘Bon Gamin’ had very little wrestling prowess and did not put up much of a fight in the grappling department. Furthermore, this was his second loss in a title fight. Gane was also beaten and outwrestled by former champion Francis Ngannou before his win over Tuivasa.
Gane had his chance to get back on track in Paris on Saturday and did so in style. In front of home fans, he easily dismantled Moldovan Spivac and won the bout via TKO in the second round. The former interim champion looked sharp from the get-go, landing his jab and shots to the body at will. Spivac had no answers for Gane’s speed and athleticism, and eventually wilted under the pressure and power.
After a heavy body shot, Spivac was visibly hurt and backed up towards the cage. Gane went on to hit his opponent with a final flurry of attacks to the head and torso of Spivac. Referee Marc Goddard stepped in to save ‘Polar Bear’ and hand Gane the TKO victory.
