Colby “Chaos” Covington is one of the most controversial names in the UFC. With his brash trash talk mixed with this wrestling-heavy style, he has proven himself to be a problem for the top welterweights in the UFC while boasting an impressive 17-4 record (12-4 inside the UFC). Covington most recently fought at UFC 296 where he lost a lackluster unanimous decision to Leon Edwards.

The loss has put Covington in a tricky position as he is now 0-3 in UFC title fights. He will need to work his way back into the title mix by stringing together some impressive wins. Heavy rumors have been circling that Colby Covington will face Ian Garry next. Garry has made claims that he has signed a contract to fight Covington but that Covington hasn’t accepted. Covington has since gone on to say;

Covington has also since gone on to question why he should be fighting down the rankings with Garry currently being No.7 and him being No.4. He stated that he will be getting a good paycheck against whoever he fights. And that ultimately he wants a rematch against the current champ Leon Edwards to prove that he is the best welterweight in the world.

Adding Fuel to the Fire

Covington and Garry have been feuding for a while. Things started to heat up when Garry called Covington out after his win at UFC 298. Garry has been on a meteoric rise through the division with an undefeated record of 14-0 (7-0 inside the UFC). Garry has not shied away from the limelight, being very outspoken throughout his UFC career. This has made him quite a polarizing figure inside the promotion, with fans seeming to have split opinions on him.

Since the callout, the pair have been going back and forth with each other on social media throwing jabs at one another. In a video posted to his X account, Covington fired shots at Garry and his wife Layla.
