Interview with Cole Ferrell
July 8th you meet Jorge Garcia at MFC 2 for the inaugural Featherweight Championship how excited are you for this event?
“I think the word “excited” is an understatement.
I am fighting for my first world championship title, after dreaming of this moment since I was 10 years old watching UFC on the television.
Now, after years and years of manifestation, sacrifice, and hard work it is finally here.“
Your coming into this fight in some great form with two early finishes. What has your recent performances done for your confidence ahead of this fight?
” There is momentum on my side going into this one that’s forsure, huge for the confidence I already possess by nature.
I think the best part about being where I’m at mentally at this point in my professional fight career is.
I know how to appreciate the momentum more than ever before, I know how to appreciate victory.
A lot of people forget I was undefeated as a pro mma fighter for 5 years from 2016-2021.
I accumulated a 10-0 record in the process, after taking my first loss I really learned how amazing victory is, and I can’t wait to taste it again July 8th“.
Cole Ferrell Talks Debut
Your debut for MFC saw you utilise your wrestling to dominate your opponent, do you expect the same result with the high level judo skillset belonging to Garcia?
“I’m going to hit Jorge with everything but the kitchen sink.
I’m more than just a wrestler and I think I got to showcase that a little bit in my BKFC debut 6 weeks ago, so I really don’t care where the fight goes.
If I want to take Jorge down, I will take him down. I will take dictate where this fight goes because I am the better fighter.
His judo doesn’t concern me, sambo I don’t give a fook. I’ll take his black belt and spank his cheeks with it.”
What can we expect from you come July 8th?
“Violence, artistry, excellence, greatness, you name it.
But most of all, a good ole fashioned whoopin is what the fans across the world can expect.”
What would it mean to you to win the Inaugural MFC Featherweight Championship?
“I don’t even know how to answer this, just because there are so many answers I could give you in response to this one question.
Becoming a world champion in any sport is what any athlete dreams of accomplishing in their perspective sport.
And it is still very hard for me to fathom the fact I have the opportunity to make this a reality.
So many people counted me out my entire life, especially growing up in my hometown of Brunswick GA/St. Simons island, and listen.
I know that sounds super cliché, but it is so so true and accurate for me specifically.
What’s beautiful about that is now most of those people either support me nowadays, or they are completely MIA, eating their own words in silence living their miserable lives.
I take the higher road by not saying anything, but deep down they know.
I still have a lot of haters out there, and I’ll be glad to shut them up on July 8th.
Most importantly is my supporters though, they deserve more light than anything.
Ben Ferrell, this is for YOU! My baby boy! My son, 8 years old I’m just trying to lead by example.”
Do you have a message for Jorge Garcia?
“You are a dead man walking. Your time is up, I am here, I was born for this.
This title is my destiny and you aren’t taking that from me. See ya in Slovakia biatch.“
