A spectacular catchweight showdown between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr is set for October at the O2.
The pair are the sons of Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr. Whose epic rivalry still lives on to this very day.
When both Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn clashed in 1990, it was Eubank Sr who was able to come away with the victory.
Chisanga Malata, MMA & Boxing journalist for The Sun, tweeted the announcement earlier this afternoon.
The Daily Star’s Chris McKenna was also quick to announce the mouthwatering fight.
Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr Will Clash at the O2
Online streaming app DAZN is confirmed to broadcast this thrilling encounter.
It will be their first major boxing pay-per-view on the platform.
Currently riding a six-fight win streak. Eubank Jr (32-2) has previously featured on Sky Sports and they were looking to broadcast a fight with Liam Smith.
With that being said, Eubank Jr was tempted by a jaw-dropping showdown against Benn.
Eubank Jr is coming off of a win against Liam Williams back in February this year in Cardiff.
As for Conor Benn (21-0). He is coming off of a second-round TKO victory over Chris van Heerden back in April.
It is fair to say that this fight will go down as one of the biggest fights in the history of British boxing that isn’t in the heavyweight division.
Speaking to Boxing King Media earlier this week, Conor Benn said: “This is the calm before the storm. A fight announcement over the next few days. Make sure you stay tuned because you don’t want to miss this one.”
With the pair due to go head to head in October. It’s fair to say that it will be a historic day for the sport of boxing.
