This would be McGregor’s second time coaching on ‘The Ultimate fighter’. Previously went up against Urijah Faber in 2015 just before McGregor fought for the interim featherweight title against Chad Mendes.
When Did We Last See Conor McGregor?
July 2021 was the last time we saw McGregor enter the octagon. And also leave it on a stretcher. Coming off of two losses to Dustin Poirier in January and July and losing the 3rd fight due to a doctor’s stoppage after snapping his lower leg at the end of the first round. Out of competition for the near future, nearly two years later we’ve now seeing his return.
Potential Rivalling Coach?
Rumours have been circulating recently that Tony Furgeson might be in the running for the second coach which would be must-see television. Furgeson himself has been on 5 fight losing streak, losing to the likes of Justin Gaejthe, Charles Oliveria, Beniel Dariush, Michael Chandler and Nate Diaz.
If Conor McGregor does end up coaching it’ll be the most successful season of the Ultimate fighter since the Irishman last appeared on the show.
