Michael Chandler has made his thoughts known on Conor McGregor attending their fight later this year.
Following this year’s The Ultimate Fighter, superstar coaches Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will be set to face each other in the Octagon. On the grounds that McGregor will re-enter the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) testing pool, they will likely have one of the biggest PPV main event slots of the year. However, for Chandler, the problem is that McGregor has still not entered himself for testing.
Michael Chandler Pressures Conor McGregor
In an interview with ESPN, Chandler made his thoughts known on McGregor and the testing pool.
“I don’t know what the understanding is. I could see it very well being just two clean tests. I have no problem with it being two clean tests. I could care less. If you do two clean tests, sounds to me like you’re clean. At this point, who am I to say what the stipulations are? I’m ready for him to be cleared or at least get that answer. At this point, we don’t have an answer.”
“I think he’s coming back. It sure would be a huge stain on his legacy leading everyone down a road, making people think he’s combing back, and then kind of chickening out.”
Despite both fighters coming off of losses to Dustin Poirier, Chandler is confident he would get the nod over McGregor. Chandler claims that he finishes “him in the second round by clean KO, and his head bounces off the canvas.” McGregor last competed in July 2021. He has not been seen in the Octagon since breaking his leg in Las Vegas, meaning it will be over two years since he last competed when he finally faces Michael Chandler.
With McGregor to still enter the testing pool, how soon the fight will be remains to be seen.
The Ultimate Fighter Season 31 airs 30th May on BT Sport and UFC FightPass.
