After recent talks from viral sensation Jake Paul about his motives and desires for a Conor McGregor fight, the ‘Notorious’ himself has responded with classic disdain.
It’s not the first time Jake Paul has lobbied for a McGregor fight, and it surely won’t be the last. Appearing on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, Paul described the money the two could make together, among other things, as prime motivation about why he wants a fight with the ‘Notorious’ one.
“…For me, fighting a couple more times,” Jake Paul began. “Continuing to knock some people out… He has to get active again. Who knows when that’s going to happen. I think that those two things need to happen, and then at some point it’s (the Conor McGregor fight) gotta happen.”
“Why not,” Paul continued. “He’s a businessman, I’m a businessman, and that’s 75 to 100 million dollars for the both of us.”
Conor McGregor Roasts Jake Paul, Makes It Clear That There’s Much More Work To Do
Of course, Conor McGregor wouldn’t let his name be spoken on and go silent. He responded in classic fashion with some witty lines that surely might’ve stung a bit.
“You’ve 2 fights and done 70k buys,” Conor McGregor began, before hitting Paul with the follow up. “You are a flop, kid. A nobody.”
It’s obvious the beef is real between them but is the ‘Notorious’ just acting like he’s against a Jake Paul fight, or could he really believe that the ‘Problem Child’ is that much beneath him?
Still recovering from a devastating injury stemming from his last fight at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier, McGregor seems to be targeting an early 2023 return. It is still unclear who will face the Irishman for his UFC comeback, but rest assured, it will be a blockbuster event.
